Glee Executive Producer, Dante Di Loreto, announced on Twitter early this morning that Javier Bardem, Katie Holmes and others are NOT going to be on season 2. We immediately reported that the Holmes rumor was false, but we're surprised to hear that the Bardem rumor is also fiction.

Two days ago Entertainment Weekly, which is usually a reliable source, announced that Javier Bardem will "appear this coming season as a rock star who befriends Artie." The author of the EW story, Michael Ausiello, obviously didn't get his information from Dante Di Loreto! Oops.

UPDATE 07/14/2010

Show creator Ryan Murphy just confirmed this rumor is true. Producer Dante Di Loreto was out of the loop.

Yet another actor is confirmed to join the McKinley High's Glee club—Academy Award winner (and gleek) Javier Bardem. He won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in No Country for Old Men, and now he is confirmed to play a rock star who befriends Artie (Kevin McHale).

“'We’re going to rock the house,' enthuses Bardem, who became an unabashed Gleek after watching the entire first season in one week. 'We’re going to do some heavy metal — Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst.'"
