WATCH: Meet Glee's Newest Hearthrob Darren Criss

MTV chats with GLEE's newest cast member Darren Criss, who plays Kurt's love interest Blaine. We got our first heavenly glimpse of Criss last night as he sang Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" with his Dalton Academy Warblers glee club.

A singer and songwriter at heart, Criss opens up about his guest starring role on GLEE:

Glee. It's the best thing that could possibly happen to me. It not only came from left field, it came from another stadium, in another dimension and hit me in the face.

Although Criss' character Blaine is a "confident, out and proud" gay character, he reveals that he's a "closet straight man" and the "straightest guy possible" but doesn't have any reservations about potential intimate scenes with Kurt.

Okay, so I'm not gonna lie, I hadn't even heard of Darren Criss until I heard that they were considering him to play Kurt's new boyfriend this season but I can honestly say that I already love him and his character. I love the way he finally makes Kurt feel good about himself in a way that no one else can. It's awesome that he's so confident and proud of who he is. Ryan Murphy & Co. did a wonderful job with this casting and the creation of the character in general.

I haven't heard of him either until Glee, but it looks like he already has fans who follow his music. I really like him as Blaine.

I agree, he is awesome as Blaine. Kurt and Blaine are already becoming my favorite couple on Glee and they aren't even officially a couple or anything lol.

After I saw Darren Criss on Glee, I checked him out and found his Very Potter Musical on YouTube. It is hilarious and has great music!
