Jonathan Groff will return to GLEE this season

It looks like original Spring Awakening co-stars Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele will be reunited once again.

TV Line.com reports that Groff has signed a deal to appear in the the second season of GLEE. He will reprise his role as Vocal Adrenaline performer Jesse St. James opposite the Rachel of Michele.

When will he return and what is the scoop on Jesse's reason?

Groff has closed a deal to return for this season’s final three episodes.

Groff exited GLEE at the end of Season 1 when the Vocal Adrenaline frontman’s diabolical scheme to infiltrate and bring down New Directions was revealed. Next thing you know Jesse’s back with VA and Rachel’s heart is in tatters.

“He’s back to apologize to Rachel,” confides a source close to the show, “and perhaps get her back.”
